We stopped by Trader Joe’s at 220 Constitution Drive in the heart of Virginia Beach’s Pembroke area while gathering ingredients to make poke bowls. They have a wonderful selection and we were able to find just about everything we needed. Oddly enough, they don’t carry seaweed salad, but we found all of the other ingredients on our list and, as usual, discovered a few things that weren’t on the list. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. One thing we particularly enjoyed was that they weren’t afraid to share their own personal preferences and recommendations. There’s something refreshing about asking an employee what they like and getting a genuine answer rather than a sales pitch. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We’re still hoping Trader Joe’s will eventually open a location in Chesapeake. Until then, the drive to Pembroke is well worth the effort.

My family and I were here the other day, and the staff were fantastic! This was our first time at a Trader Joe's, and the cashier and manager personally welcomed us and were so kind. My kids appreciated the stickers and suckers as well. GREAT customer service!

My favorite shopping place. Not as big as other major food stores but well stocked with often unusual items that you don't find in other places. Prices are very reasonable. Very nice presentation. Big focus also on healthy foods. Worth checking out.

The day has finally arrived. The grand opening of Trader Joe's in Town Center of Virginia Beach. The anticipation has been exciting over the past nine months when announced in early Spring of 2025. They kicked it off with an overcast sprinkles morning ribbon cutting at 8:55 AM. The media from a few local outlets were on hand. Also excitement with a protester. The location off Virginia Beach Blvd and facing Constitution is where the Bed, Bath and Beyond once was. Of course the iconic TJ signage is easily seen from the road. The development has now put in two adjacent businesses with ABC liquor store opening Winter of 2026 and Golf Galaxy. Parking will be more tight than Hilltop in the front and of course insane for a while with the new store. However, today on my arrival at 745 AM it was wide open. A line of around 25 had already formed. Don't forget they have a very large lot in the rear, but no entrance. It seems the square footage is larger than Hilltop, so bonus for me because I suspect this will be my regular. Staff transitioned from the old store and new hires were assigned before Thanksgiving to prepare for today's opening. It's also Flyer time with special products aro
